These Shield earrings were made by Navajo jeweler, Marcella Castillo. They are made of shimmering black lip mother of pearl which looks like solid smoke. They are darker on the back and it is easy to turn the hooks the other way. The feathers are detailed, and turquoise nugget beads are above the feathers. They dangle from sterling silver wires.
