Bushytails

They are bound together with each one looking in the opposite direction as if they are watching one another's backs.  They were made by Peter Gasper, Jr.  The bear is carved from Picasso marble with inlaid turquoise eyes.  The bushytail is carved from dolomite, also with turquoise eyes.  They each have offering bundles of a mother of pearl arrowhead, with heishi, turquoise, and red beads.  PG is engraved on the bottom. This jet bushytail with inlaid turquoise eyes is looking to the left as if it heard something.  We wonder what it could be?  Herbert Halate carved it from jet and detailed the fur all over its body and detailed the mouth, nose, and paws.  The bundle is a turquoise.  Herbert's mark is on the bottom.

We love Delvin Leekya's bushytails!  They always so interesting and a bit humorous.  This well fed bushytail has an extra eye merged with the right eye, aha!...the better to see clearly.  It's mouth is also slightly open and we wonder what it sees.  It is carved from travertine with inlaid turquoise eyes.  The medicine bundle is a carved pink mussel shell arrowhead with a tear drop shaped gold lip mother of pearl.
