This sterling silver Mudhead ring by Michael Horse is adorned highly prized Lone Mountain turquoise. The ring is size 8 and can be enlarged to size 9.5 at no charge.

Katsinas are intelligent forces of nature that are honored by people on the Pueblos in Arizona and New Mexico. The Mudhead has many roles which include being a sacred clown during the Katsina dances which brings humor to intense times, healing, and reminders of appropriate behavior. It is signed on the back.  

Size: 2.25" H x 1" W

This Katsina started out as a flat sheet silver.  Each of the three-dimensional pieces, ffeet, hands, chest, face, rattle, etc., are sawn out by hand.  The pieces were then pounded and shaped.  He also cuts and polishes the stones that are set in each piece.
